About Korea
Food
Food is the number
one industry in Korea.
Restaurants and street vendors are everywhere. Korean cuisine has something
for everyone, whether you're a seafood lover, meat lover or vegetarian.
Typical Korean food is often cooked with hot pepper paste, so many dishes
are quite spicy, but for those who cannot tolerate spicy food there are
many other Korea dishes from which to choose.
The average Korean
meal at a sit-down restaurant costs about $5 CAD. Chinese and
Japanese cuisine is also readily available, and many places serve
North-American and Italian-style foods. The larger cities have
several popular North American restaurant chains such as Kentucky Fried
Chicken, McDonalds, TGI Fridays, The Outback Steakhouse, Pizza Hut, and
Burger King. The caf?has become very trendy in Korea. Popular coffee
bar chains include The Coffee Bean, The Tea Leaf and Starbucks.
